October 26 Harvest Festival Potluck – 6:00 PM Unitarian Hall, Nanaimo

Our October potluck will be held, as usual, on the last Friday of the month at the Unitarian Hall, 595 Townsite Road in Nanaimo beginning at 6:00 PM. This month’s theme is the harvest – a celebration of fresh, local food. Join us to find out more about Pacific Gardens Cohousing, meet the community members and share a great meal.

Information Session Thursday, November 8, 4:00 to 5:30 PM

This is an opportunity for guests to learn more about Pacific Gardens Cohousing Community in a small, informal gathering with the owners. Meet by the fireplace in the Food Court area of Port Place Mall. Food is available in the Food Court.

Groundbreaking Ceremony

A very successful groundbreaking ceremony took place September 8 on the Pacific Gardens Cohousing property. Over 80 people came out for the glorious Fall day to enjoy food from local restaurants, music by The Brass Connections, and a ceremonial blessing by Ellen White, an Elder of the Nanaimo Nation. Community members turned the first sod with shovels decorated with green ribbons – representative of their dedication to building a green, sustainable cohousing project.

Construction underway!

Georgia View Home Builders Ltd. has begun excavation at the land. The next few months will see the land cleared where necessary and the foundations of the building being completed.

With the site now a construction zone, land tours are strictly controlled.  If you would like to tour the land, please contact our office at 250-754-3060. Please note that no weekend visits will be possible and several days notice will be necessary to arrange a tour.
